Jamaica During Spring Break

Jamaica is one of the leading Spring Break destinations for a reason. It has beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, a laid back vibe, and some of the wildest parties in the world. Your nights can be spent chilling with friends listening to Bob Marley or drinking at a Beach party with hundreds of other students. So for whatever you are looking for, Jamaica is a great place to go.

Overview

Beach Bonfire Parties

Another huge thing during Spring Break in Jamaica are the beach bonfire parties where hundreds of students will party to a theme all night. Some have included Mardi Gras, Old School, and a No Woman No Cry beach party.

Margaritaville

Part of the Jimmy Buffet franchise, Margaritaville definitely makes Jimmy proud. It has a giant water trampoline, rock climbing wall, and hammocks to chill in. The margaritas are great, but be warned they are really expensive. The party will be going all the time during Spring Break.

Fun Holiday

Open 24 hours a day during Spring Break. Yes, that's right, 24 hours. You can't find that in the States. It has a great pool with bars on the side so you don't even have to get out of the water. Check out: Fun Holiday

Rick's

Next to the cliff jumping site, Rick's offers great nightlife and awesome drink specials. It was once voted as one of the top 10 bars in the world and is an awesome place to spend a night watching the sunset before the party starts rocking.

Risky Business

Located in the middle of Negril's Seven Mile beach, this open-air bar has an awesome atmosphere. It is home to the "fastest grill in Negril" and all-night parties. Check out: Risky Business

Jungle Night Club

Located on the main road that runs next to the seven mile strip, they play Rap/Reggae music and are well known for their Thursday's "ladies nights". You can dance until 6AM and/or chill out while playing ping pong on the roof. This club is so big it even has a hot tub. Check out: Jungle Night Club

Local Fare

Most people will eat at their resort during Spring Break, but don't be scared to get out and find some local food. They have a variety of great food that they are famous for such as Jerk Chicken Sandwiches and Seafood. The best thing to do is just to walk down the street and find the place with the most locals and don't forget to wash down your meal with a red stripe.

Coral Seas Hotel

An all-inclusive resort located right on the beach. The white buildings with red roofs will get you in the island mood as you lay by the pool with a drink in hand. Check out: Coral Seas

Nice large rooms so you can spread out. Sunrise Club is located right on the beach and you are just a few yards away from Negril's best bars.

    Overview

Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean, and the most populous island in that region. The island of Jamaica is home to the Blue Mountains inland, and is surrounded by a narrow coastal plain. Most major towns and cities are located on the coast. Chief towns and cities include the capital Kingston, Portmore, Spanish Town, Mandeville, Ocho Ríos, Port Antonio, and Montego Bay.

    Rastafari

The Rastafari movement was founded in Jamaica. This Back to Africa movement believes that Haile Selassie of Ethiopia was God incarnate, the returned black messiah, come to take the lost Twelve Tribes of Israel back to live with him in Holy Mount Zion in a world of perfect peace, love and harmony. Bob Marley, a convert to the faith, spread the message of Rastafari to the world. There are now estimated to be more than a million Rastafarians throughout the world. Though a small nation, Jamaica is rich in culture, and has a strong global presence. The musical genres reggae, ska, mento, rocksteady, dub, and, more recently, dancehall and ragga all originated in the island's vibrant, popular urban recording industry. Content via wikipedia
